BJP president Amit Shah has targeted Congress on the decision to censor Vande Matram. Shah said on his statement that ”the country’s partition could have been avoided had Congress not made the mistake of “censoring” national song “Vande Mataram” as part of its appeasement policy.
Amit Shah further said that Congress’s appeasement policy of India getting dIvided would not be successful. Congress had not made the mistake of censoring the national song Vande Mataram to just stanzas instead of the whole song. he said it could have stopped India from getting divided.
BJP President Amit Shah stated on the occasion of the Bengali writer’s birthday where the first Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay Memorial Lecture organized by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation.
Amit Shah gave his statement on the Congress that party wants to divide the country and he also said that the Congress’s decision to censor Vande Matram led to India;s partition while the Khilafat movement and the Muslim League’s two-nation theory is claimed by historians for India’s partition.

in a city auditorium where the event was held, there were many intellectuals of Bengal, fiction writer Buddhadeb Guha, Bankim Chandra’s biographer Amitrasudan Bhattacharya, professor Purabi Roy and state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh present.

on this event, Amit Shah salutes the author of Vande Mataram Chattopadhyay, as someone who started in the renaissance of India’s cultural ethos and explained Vande Mataram as a manifestation of the country’s century-old tradition of nationalism.

on a two-day tour of Bengal Amit Shah said that ” “Vande Mataram is a manifestation of our century-old tradition of nationalism. India is not a geopolitical nation, it is a geo-cultural nation. The definition of India’s nationalism is not narrow,”
shah also stated that bringing religion into the Vande Mataram was the biggest mistake of Congress . with a particular religion and religious belief, Vandematram never connected and any community is not criticised nor ridiculed by this song. where the song was produced, it is always tried to connect the nation with its people and manifests the tradition and culture of the region.
although, BJP President stated that the country’s situation has totally changed with the saffron outfit’s ascendency to power.
