Here’s Why Blue Water In Pool Turned Dark Green At Rio Olympics
From the past week, the craze of Rio-Olympics is running all over the world hitting the television screens. All the netizens are showing very much interesting in knowing about the Olympics updates even in their busy schedule. In contrast to the cool journey of Olympics over the week, some weird thing happened on Tuesday. It is regarding the water of the diving pool.
Besides the news of Michael Phelps winning the 21st gold medal, one more news about the diving pool is going viral in the social media. The pool where women’s synchronized 10-meter platform competition was going on, turned DARK GREEN.
Diving Pool Turned Green:
While the adjoining pool for water polo and synchronized swimming didn’t change its color and remained normal blue color. But the pool which got turned into Dark green was in such a way that the bottom of the pool was hardly visible. Tom Daley, the Bronze medal winner for Team GB tweeted about this change in the color of the diving pool.

This issue was taken to the higher officials. They answered that they too didn’t have any clue as to why there was this change in color. But they confirmed that this change of color wasn’t dangerous and harmful. While no one had the exact reason, Twitteraties started reacting on this.

Some of the rumors stating that the change of color to green is to highlight the Brazilian flag color. In reply to this tweets, Olympics organizers tweeted officially about the color change stating that they are investigating the cause.
The water quality at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre was tested and there were no risks for the athletes. We are investigating the cause.

Finally, the organizing committee of Olympics gave a conclusion to all the people that the change of color was caused due to lack of wind and heat at the venue. They termed this as the ‘Proliferation of algae’.
