This Girl Loses Cash Rewards & Silver Medal Because Of Rajasthan Board’s Mistake
In the past, we have come across various cases where students bear the losses due to mistakes of the board. But, after the revaluation, the failed candidates turned out to be the toppers. Priyanka Sharma, a student of class 12th from Tonk, Rajasthan has gone through a mental trauma with the board’s mistake.
Priyanka Sharma who is basically an “A” grade student failed in class XII political science subject in the results announced in the month of May. She got really good marks in every subject other than Political Science in which she scored just 27 marks. Priyanka scored 97 in Hindi, 95 in English, 99 in geography and 89 in optional Hindi.
After seeing her result there is nothing left for her other than a shocking a gesture. She instantly sent it back for rechecking to the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE). However, the revised result came four months late. She jumped to 4th position in the revised state merit list.
After checking her result she said: “Never in my life have I scored below 60% marks. I knew that something was wrong.”
In four months, a dozen award ceremonies were held by the RBSE, state government, district MP, collector and social groups. She would have bagged cash rewards of around Rs 1 lakh and a silver medal from the RBSE if her revised score had been announced earlier.
Due to the error in the evaluation, she was unable to get admission in BA geography (honors). In an angry tone, she said “Somebody should be held responsible for this grave mistake. I want all cash rewards which were given to someone else due to board’s mistake. I want my admission in geography subject.”
Girdhar Singh, the principal of Sharma’s school, said, “Priyanka has gone through immense mental trauma due to this mistake of the board. It is a matter of shame that such a mistake deprived her of so many awards.”
