The Director shall be appointed by the Board of Governors based on recommendations made by a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC). The SCSC will consider applications fulfilling the above criteria, received in response to this advertisement as well as nominations received from eminent persons in the field of management/management education. The SCSC may also consider names outside the panel of the applications received in response to this advertisement. An outside agency may also be hired for soliciting more applications/nominations.

Selected candidates shall have a contractual tenure of appointment for five years or till attaining the age of superannuation as per rules. The candidate applying for the post should preferably be below 60 years of age as on the last date of the advertisement.
