India is celebrating 67th Republic Day to mark the completion of 66 years as a republic. French President Francois Hollande is the chief guest for the Republic Day parade. And he’s the fifth French President to be India’s chief guest for Republic Day. The special attraction in the Republic Day Parade is the Dogs March. The dog squad made a comeback on the Rajpath after 26 years on the 67th Republic Day.

Indian Army dogs, who have saved the lives of numerous soldiers in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, will march down the Rajpath for Republic Day Parade. The Army, which has about 1,200 Labradors and German Shepherds, has selected 36 canines to march down the Rajpath with their handlers.
