Wishing all the women out there a very Happy Women`s Day. This day is especially dedicated to women to celebrate their womanhood and their achievements in every step of their life. Women all over the world are celebrating this day, but how many they know the importance of this and history of Women`s Day?

Every year International Women`s Day is celebrated on March 8<sup>th</sup>. This day is previously celebrated in the Socialist and communist countries later UN adopted this culture. Every year UN celebrates women`s day with different themes. The theme on which Women`s is celebrated this year is “Press For Progress”.

Since 2012 UN is celebrating women`s days based on some theme, that year the theme was “End Hunger and Poverty”. In 2013, the UN theme was ‘A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women’. In 2014 the theme was ‘Equality for Women is Progress for All’. In 2015 the theme was ‘Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture it!’. In 2016 the theme was “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. In 2017 the theme was “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”.

From the very beginning days Women`s day is not associated with any group. Later governments across the world came together. Then came forward, the Women Welfare and empowerment organizations, non-profit and charities, many other to celebrate this day.

In 2011, the world`s focus started on the Women`s Day Celebrations and International Committee of Red Cross has done this with all its efforts.

In 2012, the former US president Barack Obama declared the month of March as the Women`s History Month. Before it was International working women`s Day but later changed to International Women`s Day.
