ISIS Bride Says She Was Brainwashed When She Decided To Join The Terrorist Group
Shamima Begum, the teen from the United Kingdom who ran away at the age of 15 to join ISIS, the terrorist group in Syria, says that she was “Brainwashed” when she joined ISIS.
Recently, Shamima begged for the UK to give her a 2nd chance.
In 2015, Shamima was only 15-years-old when she traveled from east London to Syria, she is married to 27-year-old Yago Riedijk a Dutch Terrorist.
Her husband is currently held at a detention center in Syria, if he returns home, he could be facing 6 years in prison.
Shamima has lost her 3 kids while living in Bhaguz. Earlier this year, she shared the death of her son Jerrah, who passed away in February.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid revoked the Citizenship of Shamima Begum this year.

In an interview, Shamima said, “Since I left Baghuz I really regretted everything I did, and I feel like I want to go back to the UK for a second chance to start my life over again. I was brainwashed. I came here believing everything that I had been told, while knowing little about the truths of my religion.”
Begum also admitted to becoming ‘radicalized online’ after she felt depressed and when she looked for a purpose.
Begum said that she was easy to manipulate at that time, she added that during the time she was recruited by the group, there was an ongoing disconnect with her family.
Begum regrets speaking with journalists but says that she did it out of desperation to return to her homeland with her children.
She added, “The responsibility that I had now, towards him, to get me back to the UK – I was just really desperate, and I just blurted out everything, I tried to answer every question really quickly, I did it out of desperation, maybe not all my answers were clear.”
Earlier this year, in an interview with BBC, she said that she hoped the government of the United Kingdom would forgive her wrongdoings.
She said, “I just want forgiveness really, from the UK. Everything I’ve been through, I didn’t expect I would go through that. Losing my children the way I lost them, I don’t want to lose this baby as well and this is really not a place to raise children, this camp.”
A lawyer that is working on behalf of the family of Shamima Begum wrote to the Home Secretary and asked him to allow the teen to return to her homeland after the death of her children.
