Jammu and Kashmir: 6 Dead and 31 Injured After a Bus Falls in Gorge

31 were injured and 6 were killed in a bus accident that happened in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. The police said that the bus fell in a gorge that is located in Udhampur. The bus was bound to Srinagar and was owned by a private ecompany.

The bus fell at a gorge that was located in Chandeh Village near Surinsar after the bus driver lost control of the bus and rolled down in the deep gorge, the accident happened by midnight.

The officials said that the bus driver took a shortcut that will dodge the traffic police after the restrictions and security was increased on the national highway of Jammu to Srinagar which was opened after 5 days, the highway was closed due to landslides that were caused by the heavy rain and snowfall.

A rescue operation was launched by the local official’s right after they got the news about the accident.

5 people were found dead and 32 were rescued from the gorge, they were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital of Jammu for immediate treatment.

One person was declared dead by the doctors after the person was brought to the hospital.

A couple of the injured people are currently critical and are under the watch of the doctors in the Government hospital.
