A 22-year-old Engineering Student, who went missing on April 13, was found burned and hanging from a tree in Raichur, Karnataka.

The police also found a suicide note from the scene, the note says the student committed suicide because she was depressed.

The 22-year-old student left for school on April 13 morning and went missing afterward.

The family of the deceased denied the suicide claims, instead, they say that she was raped first, then burnt alive, and then hanged from the tree.

The family also said that the boyfriend committed the crime, the police have arrested him after the allegations were made.

A man from the region has also started an online petition for the engineering student, as of now the petition has 144,199 signatures, the goal is 150,000.

The petition is for the Karnataka police, it says, “This petition is for her, a civil engineering student”

It added, “i request everyone of you to please sign this petition and help me reach out the possible authorities to impact a clear investigation on this case and punish the found guilty! Lets take out time to reach out for #justiceformadhu she didnt deserve this death! If we remain quiet, this might cover on to our loved ones sooner, hope all of you will help me to provide justice for her and her family!”

The Karnataka police have confirmed that the body of the woman was burnt, they are currently waiting for the autopsy report which will confirm if the student was raped.
