Kejriwal Sees BJP More Corrupt Than Congress Over Rafale Scam, Gets Two BJP Leader’s Support

Noida: As per the political analysts, the alleged “Rafale scam” issue will not die soon and may be debated upon and generate heated arguments from many quarters for many years. On Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched his own version of attack on the Centre over the issue of “Rafale scam with the joining of BJP’s own members. Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha are from the ruling party side who criticized Narendra Modi led government over the issue.

The Aam Aadmi Chief said that the BJP party was more corrupt than the Congress party.

Mr. Kejriwal alleged that Congress was voted out of power five years ago due to its involvement in corruption with a hope that the BJP government would bring a change, Mr. Kejriwal said while adding that both the parties are corrupted.

He also took names of several alleged scams.

“They have turned out to be more corrupt than them. If they did 2G, the other has done Sahara-Birla diary scam, if they did the Commonwealth scam, the other has done the Lalit Modi scam. If they did Bofors scam, the other has matched them with this Rafale scam,” he said.

Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha were on the dais with Mr. Kejriwal at an event held after the culmination of AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s padyatara from Saharanpur.

He said, “I got to know about Rafale scam. I hear they have bought some fighter planes at exorbitant prices.”

“Yashwant ji is saying that one aircraft, for our defence forces, was priced at Rs. 540 crore which was bought by them for Rs. 1,670 crore. Someone somewhere must have made some money. Or they have given it for free? But who made the money?,” he asked.

The Delhi Chief Minister asked the people to compare the achievements made by BJP party ruling at the Centre and his AAP party at the national capital level while keeping in view the fact that both of the parties came to power almost at the same time. During the speech he recounted his government’s work in education sector, healthcare, regulating power tariffs among others.

“If we can transform the government schools in Delhi, create hundreds of mohalla clinics and provide power at lowest tariff in the country, why can’t Modi ji do it across the country?” he asked.

“The unprecedented work done by our government in Delhi is being talked about in the world. Tell me one good thing that the Modi government has done in the last four years,” Mr Kejriwal said citing “problems” faced by common people and traders due to issues like demonetisation, GST and the rising fuel prices.

He said that the state has was left behind in development due to its size while referring to APP MP Sanjay Singh’s ‘padyatra’ in Uttar Pradesh.

“Uttar Pradesh should be divided into Awadh, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Pashchim Uttar Pradesh — four states. This is the people’s demand. And not only do we support it, we will struggle with the people of the state for the fulfilment of this demand,” Mr Kejriwal said.

He congratulated the efforts made by Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha with respect to the people issues of the Narendra Modi government, he said, “Recently he (Yashwant Sinha) announced that he won’t contest elections any more. But if good people like him won’t do it then who would?”

He posed a question before the public present in the meeting whether Yashwant Sinha should contest in polls, he then told the veteran leader, “Sir, it’s the public demand that Yashwant Sinha should contest elections.”
