Kerala’s Finance Minister, Thomas Isaac, has also come out against the move, calling it “a joke, calamity”. In an interview to India Today, he said, “If the prime minister is thinking black money is held in cash in almirahs in India, then that’s not right. Major proportion of black money is stacked abroad, the rest is invested in gold or other precious metals and properties. It is ordinary people who keep cash in hand,” he added.
