Kejriwal Wants Ballot Boxes In MCD Polls. EC Says EVMs Will Be Used. Kejriwal Gets Trolled

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party (AAP) must be disheartened owing to their flop performances in the recently concluded Assembly Elections.

Kejriwal who is known for blaming of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for anything and everything has once again started blame game but with a different reason this time.

Yes, he is now blaming the EVMs and also demanded that ballot boxes should be used in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections which are to be held on April 22.

Kejriwal had directed Chief Secretary M.M. Kutty to ask the State Election Commission to hold MCD elections through ballot papers.

But the Election Commissioner S.K. Srivastava said that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) would be used.

The parties that lost are raising EVM fraud issue. It started with BSP chief Mayawati, whose party got such a drumming in Uttar Pradesh that it might be staring at a political oblivion.

In response, the Election Commission told Mayawati,

“The poll panel has said that it has made repeated visit to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and met the representatives of all parties, including your party. No one raised any objection with regard to functioning of EVMs at these meetings. The commission has thus not received any complaints during the entire process of installation in UP and Uttrakhand with regard to your allegation of grave manipulation of EVMs.”

Yet unable to digest their defeat, the parties are now suspecting the EVMs. Everyone from Congress leaders to AAP leaders are claiming that BJP won because of the EVMs.

However, these results once again gave a chance to Twitterati to troll the New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

See how Twitterati pointed out the hypocrisy of those claiming EVM fraud:

This point raised by Sanjay Nirupam of Congress party, however, is worth noting:

It won’t be wrong to say that after election results, Twitter has turned into a playground where someone or the other is playing with the emotions of Arvind Kejriwal, by either trolling him or making nasty remarks against him.
