Kerala Woman Gets A Pervert To Pay Rs 25,000 To Charity Home After Online Harassment

Out of nowhere, when you get a call and asked questions like “What is your rate?”, “When can I meet you?”, “Shall I book a room?”, etc., you will definitely be puzzled.

So was Sreelakshmi Satheesh, when recently she was being harassed online as well as through phone calls. She was really fed up with random men calling her up to enquire about the rates for’sexual favours’. She decided to find out the reason behind such sudden calls.

Sreelaxmi is a motivational speaker and the CEO of an educational consultancy firm in Kerala, she recently took to Facebook to write about the incident. If you know Malayalam or have a Malayali friend somewhere around, then read this fierce woman’s Facebook post here.

Written in Malayalam, she said that she was in for a shock when she started receiving such calls. After she stopped answering them, messages asking for her “rate” started pouring in. So much so, she had to switch off her phone. But then she decided not to suffer quietly.

On investigating, she found out that local party’s youth leader had posted her number on a WhatsApp group with the words, ‘super item’. She says

I was deluged by calls from party youth wing leaders. That is how I zeroed in on his identity. I asked them to ensure his immediate dismissal from the party. I have achieved success through education. I have neither surrendered my dignity to anyone nor have I allowed anyone to dent my pride.

Sreelaxmi asked him to donate Rs. 25000 to any charity

She took the screenshots of the messages and was thinking about going to the police when the youth leader’s father approached her with an apology. He profusely apologized to her and requested her to not go to the police. She accepted his request but on one condition. She asked him to donate Rs. 25000 to any charity.

He literally begged me to not file a complaint with the police

“That was when his father came to meet me in person, and offered profuse apologies. He literally begged me to not file a complaint with the police in this regard. Seeing his father in such agony was the only reason why I was ready for a compromise. I felt like slapping his son but then thought what is the use…I then came up with this solution.”
