Kings XI Punjab under R Ashwin are on a roll, winning four out of the five matches they have played so far and thus moving to the top of the Indian Premier League 2018 season. One of the main reasons for their improved performances is their batting. Their batting unit has looked unstoppable and they are able to pile up a lot of runs on the board while batting first and chase down any total which is set for them.
If there’s one term that can be associated with Kings XI Punjab’s opening this season, that would be ‘blockbuster’. There’s hardly been a foot put wrong in this IPL by their openers. Openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle are in terrific touch and have taken opposition bowlers to cleaners.

On Saturday against KKR this opening duo added 116 runs for the first wicket chasing revised total of 125 in 13overs. Chris Gayle scored unbeating 62 off 38 balls whereas his partner in crime KL Rahul scored 60 off just 27 balls for which he was adjudged as man of the match.
After the game KXIP co-owner Preity Zinta and KL Rahul did a interview in which KL Rahul recalled about how KKR owner, King Khan Shahrukh Khan did the cartwheel after his franchise lifted the title. He also asked Preity Zinta if she will do anything “special” for her team if they bring back the title home.

To this Preity Zinta revealed that she is planning something “Special” for the team. She said “Ok, I will do something special. I am not going to tell you. We are in it to win it and if we win, I will do something special.”
With batsmen in such form there is a chance for Punjab to win IPL this year.
Kings XI Punjab will play against Delhi Daredevils on 23rd April at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
