Most awaited movie “M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story”, a biopic on the life of Indian cricketer and the current ODI and T20I captain of the Indian national cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni released today. Sushant Singh Rajput is playing the role as Dhoni and Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, and Anupam Kher in supporting roles.

The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced jointly with Inspired Entertainment and Arun Pandey, in association with Friday Film Works. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is a biographical film, based on the life of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story introduces MS Dhoni as a goalkeeper in his school days. Dhoni likes Football and Badminton in his childhood. He is then seen taking up cricket and turning a district level player in the first half of the movie. The second half deals with his career as a full-time cricketer, the ups, and downs he sees with his team and his love life. The film is lengthy and drags in parts. Though the narration is slow, the movie is entertaining.

The movie has got a very emotional and inspiring story in it. Sushant plays the lead character in the film while Kiara Advani is playing the wife of Dhoni and Disha Patani plays the character of Dhoni’s ex-girlfriend. Bhumika Chawla plays Dhoni’s sister, who is seen after a long gap in the movie.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has an interesting and inspiring screenplay that keeps the viewers engaged right from the begin till the end. However, the runtime of the film is on the negative side. As Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput has delivered brilliant performance, which is the main highlight of the movie. He gave National Award Worthy Performance.

On the other side, 35% of the film is about Dhoni’s personal life and the remaining about cricket. “M.S. Dhoni – The Untold” failed to justify the title. More than half the film is focused on Cricket than Dhoni’s personal life. The audience who come to theaters to know about MS Dhoni’s personal life will be quite disappointed  The movie has superb production values. Amaal Mallik and Rochak Kohli’s songs, Sanjoy Chowdhury’s background score and Santosh Thundiyil’s cinematography are the attractions on the technical front. The direction is not up to the mark. The run time is testing the patience of the audience. However, there is no dull moment on the screen. The 2011 world cup winning shot brings goosebumps to the group of onlookers.
