Maharashtra: Tempo-Driver Robbed and Killed His Friend

Police Report: A tempo driver was arrested by the police who allegedly robbed and killed his friend, the dead body of his friend was found last week in the district of Thane, Maharashtra.

MB Shinde a Senior Inspector said that a resident of Kalher saw the dead body floating in the creek, the body of his friend was placed in a plastic bag, the resident called the police and informed them about the incident.

The dead person who was found has been identified as 37-year-old Prasad Tiwari who was a resident of Mulund, Mumbai. He used to work as a cash collector with a businessman from Mumbai.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Prasad Tiwari carried Rs. 12.66 lakhs on March 6, 2019, when his friend Dinesh Saroj who is a tempo driver drove him to his home and killed him with the of Sunil Yadav before stealing the cash.

27-year-old Sunil Yadav and Dinesh Saroj placed the dead body of Tiwari in a plastic bag and threw it in a creek.

Dinesh was arrested by the police on Wednesday, the search for Sunil is still ongoing as he is on the run. The police are also trying to recover the money that was stolen from Tiwari.

Dinesh and Sunil will both face several charges under the Indian Penal Codes of 302 and 201.
