Mahesh Bhatt may be the most controversial man in Bollywood. Mahesh Bhatt has raised many eyebrows and grabbed many headlines from time to time during his years in Bollywood. We all know that he has three daughters (Pooja, Shaheen and Alia) and one son (Rahul).

Known to speak his mind in sometimes outlandish manners, Mahesh Bhatt got himself embroiled in another controversy when he once appeared on the cover of Filmfare magazine kissing eldest daughter Pooja. Sounding much like a certain Donald Trump, he even claimed that he would have married her had she not been his daughter.
More than the cover photo it was the lead story that took the entire nation by shock. The headline read “If Pooja wasn’t my daughter, I’d have loved to marry her.” The filmmaker and the magazine, both were slammed for the article and the cover picture.

In a interview this is what his daughter said.

 Speaking of Mahesh Bhatt as a father, Alia reveals, “He’s not a regular person, in general, so one would also imagine that he would not be a regular dad. He’s not the dad who wants to sit down on every Sunday with you or tell you to do well in school or do well in that. He’s the opposite – he would tell me to fail. He totally took the idea out of my head that failure is a bad thing.”

Pooja Bhatt said, “I had the privilege of knowing him in a manner that Alia, Shaheen and Sunny (her younger siblings) never did because I think I knew him through that difficult phase of failure, which none of my siblings have seen or witnessed.”
