Mahesh Bhupathi Publishes His WhatsApp Chat With Leander Paes, The Duo’s Fiasco Gets Worsened
There were days when the term sports means cricket, now that there are some brilliant Badminton, Tennis and Wrestlers there’s enough space to acknowledge everyone. However, it must be mentioned that the men behind beginning the Tennis chapter is Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi.
The duo has managed to get enough fame after winning some exclusive titles. But how about the aspects of the partnership and game plans? if everything was well, the duo would have earned an Olympic medal for India now, and what all left in between them is ‘ego’. In the beginning, the duo had played together winning the unforgettable 4 grand slams within a year and unfortunately, that was the end.
And things are getting worse as Mahesh Bhupathi, the captain of the Davis Cup team has disclosed the WhatsApp conversation he had with Paes on keeping him out of the team.
Thanks to the players, India has won the Uzbekistan tie by 4-1, something which never happened from the past 27 years. However, Leander slammed Mahesh for not taking him in the team without any solid excuse as he said:
“The criterion was supposed to be form, which obviously doesn’t seem to be the case. It seems to fluctuate a lot. At one time, it is based on rankings and other times, it’s based on likes and personal preferences. Sometimes it’s not on personal preferences; it is based on who plays deuce court and who plays on the ad court. And now it is based on form. On-form, you guys know better who has played better.”
And the WhatsApp conversation as published by Mahesh Bhupathi went:
Mahesh even explained his side of the story as:
“At no point did I ever communicate to Leander that he was in the scheme of things to play. I even have a WhatsApp conversation to show you where I had specifically told him that he was in the reserves and only if he wanted to come should he come knowing that he wasn’t in my scheme for the final four. This was as early as March 5. He, to his credit, suggested that he would definitely come and contribute to try and take India back to the world group even if he was in the reserves.”
This unexpected disclosure of the personal WhatsApp conversation shocked Paes and he took on to his Twitter handle to explain his version of the story:

And no matter how worse the fight might be, it is definitely unfair to publicise the WhatsApp conversation. Let us hope that the duo might break their pride and ego at each other and the time hasn’t ended yet , their reunion might help India in clinching some possible medals.
