A ‘mentally disturbed’ man went around the renowned Aap Shambhu Temple in Roop Nagar, Jammu. This incident happened on Tuesday around 5pm as identified from the CCTV Footage. There were people still visiting the temple to seek blessings.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad called an early morning press conference on Wednesday. The man has been identified as Yasir Alfaz. He hails Shiva village in Doda district. Mobile and internet services were suspended to avoid any rumours/messages to further get forwarded.

On further enquiry, it was found that he’s’ mentally disturbed and was visiting a psychiatrist in the locality. However, the people of Jammu did not take this lightly. Ever since the news has spread, there’s been a lot of protests. Three vehicles were set on fire and people resorted to pelting stones.

Leela Karan Sharma, of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said, “Some youth who were protesting non-violently were arrested by the police last night near Janipur and we demand that these boys to be released or else we would agitate against the authorities. If these youth are not released today, we would call for a Jammu Bandh as the authorities are selectively working against Jammu.”
