Ousted Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar Will Live In A CPM Office Room

The outgoing Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar is now moved to his new residence at the CPI (M) state committee office.

Mr. Sarkar has the experience of ruling the state for a long period of 20 years. He checked-out of his official residence on Marx-Engels Sarani, which is about 500 meters from his new home, CPI (M) state party secretary Bijan Dhar told the reporters today.

Bijan Dhar further said that he Mr. Sarkar would be living in one room of the party office guest house along with his wife Panchali Bhattacharya.

Haripada Das, office secretary of CPI(M) said that their leader had asserted that he would eat what is cooked in the party office kitchen. He added that the former CM has already sent to the party office. Mr. Sarkar might shift to a government quarter if he is given one of the new government office.

The wife of the former CM had earlier told PTI that she would be donating the Marxist literature and books to the party office library and the Birchandra Central library in Agartala.

The couple are blessed with no children.

In the recent elections happened in the last week, BJP had demolished the Left citadel in the ruling CPI (M) party in the elections in Tripura. This is like ending the 25 year rule of the CPI led Left Front and the 20 year reign of the Manik Sarkar.

With this victory in the north east, the BJP has opened its count in the north eastern states as well.  The BJP has now eyed in the upcoming elections in the south states of India Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

In the other news, BJP is out of the TDP ruled Andhra Pradesh considering the special status issue in Andhra Pradesh. Two Union Ministers from TDP have resigned from the cabinet of NDA in a protest against not giving the special status package to the newly formed Andhra Pradesh.
