Step Aside Google and Apple, Finally McDonald’s Just Won The Burger Emoji Debate!

Are you from the team Apple or team Google? We’re not asking about your choice of Smartphone or Laptop or Tablet. We’re talking about burger ingredients. Haha, funny, right?

Burger emoji of Google and Apple companies

Specifically, those featured in Apple and Google’s differing burger emoji. A full-scale debate has broken out after someone tweeted an image comparing Apple and Google’s burger emoji and rather crucially the order in which their ingredients are stacked.

It’s no secret that there are slight and sometimes less-than-subtle differences between emoji on different platforms. For instance, the grimacing emoji on Apple (aka my resting face) made a lot of waves last year, because of the version of it that Samsung and Google users received looked like it was about to start a fight with the next person who looked at them the wrong way.

For people who depend on emoji to express the feels that words alone cannot, this kind of miscommunication can create some hella awkward situations. Or, you know. Start a small culinary war in an unsuspecting man’s Twitter mentions.

So, the debate even reached Google CEO Sundar Pichai and he also waded in, prompting to address Google’s emoji as a matter of urgency. Both Apple and Google’s emoji appear to have burger ingredients stacked in the incorrect order. And, burger enthusiasts will not rest until something is done about it.

Google’s version of the emoji places the cheese underneath the burger, with the lettuce leaf on top of all the other ingredients. Meanwhile, Apple’s version has the cheese placed atop the burger, with lettuce underneath the patty.

The obvious concern was Google’s bizarre decision to place the cheese underneath the meat. But, many people were quick to point out that Apple’s emoji was also fatally flawed for a different reason, even if they did manage to get the cheese placement right. Apple’s decision to place the lettuce underneath the burger also proved highly contentious.

But in this emoji war between Apple and Google, there is another brand which has emerged victorious out of nowhere. And It’s McDonald’s! The fast-food chain jumped at the opportunity and released a video on their Twitter handle claiming that both the brands have the right emoji.
