More than 42 lakh senior citizens gave up railway concession in past nine months, says Narendra Modi
IN New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his statement on railway concession that is given by senior citizens and on gas subsidy as well, on Friday he said that in the past nine months, 42 lakh senior citizens had given up their railway concession as per their own choices, however, the gas subsidy had been surrendered by the 1.25 crore families.
In the country, there has been promoted an environment of honesty and more and more people are coming forward to contribute to the nation building by giving up on several subsidies and concessions of their own desire.
and PM Modi further added that with his only one request that he did from the Red Fort to well-off citizens to give up LPG subsidy, and 1.25 crore families gave up the benefit.
Prime Minister Modi further added to his statement that “Here (in case of railway concessions) I had not announced anything. But the railways themselves on their form asked people if they would want to give up their senior citizen concessions…I am proud to say that in the past eight-nine months, 42 lakh elderly passengers have voluntarily given up their subsidy,”
Narendra Modi further said that 1.25 crore pregnant women have been treated free-of-cost as he only requested to doctors for treating pregnant women free of cost at least once in a month so many doctors had followed this and 1.25 crore pregnant women get the benefit of this.
The prime minister also added that doctor who is working in the private sector called by PM to give free ante-natal services (ANC) on the 9th of every month on a voluntary basis to pregnant women, particularly for those women who is living in under-served, semi-urban, poor and rural areas during his radio address in 2016 .
PM Modi has inaugurated a super specialty and an emergency block at Safdarjung Hospital at AIIMS in Delhi, after laying the foundation stone of the National Centre for Aging he said that “This shows the trust of the people on this government is increasing. People have this feeling that the tax we are paying, every single penny is being utilized for the purpose of development,”
Narendra Modi further gave a statement on the national health policy, he said that his BJP government is not only providing modern treatment facilities such as hospitals and medicines but also this policy aims to provide very low-cost treatment for every citizen and makes sure to remove the causes of diseases.
PM Modi further added that “Our government has taken healthcare services beyond the boundaries of the health ministry and today the ministries of rural development, drinking water and sanitation, women and child development and Ayush have all got linked with the government’s vision to provide accessible and affordable health to all,”
Modi further said that health protection scheme will highly benefit the poor living in villages and rural areas and more and more states are being linked to the project and private hospitals are being brought on board. “This will be the world’s largest health assurance scheme,”.
