Naraka Chaturdashi (also known as Kali Chaudas, Roop Chaudas, Choti Diwali or Naraka Nivaran Chaturdashi) is a Hindu festival, which falls on Chaturdashi (14th day) of the Krishna Paksha in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar month of Kartik. It is the second day of the five-day-long festival of Diwali. The Hindu literature narrates that the asura (demon) Narakasura was killed on this day by Krishna, Satyabhama, and Kali. The day is celebrated by early morning religious rituals and festivities followed on.

People celebrate Chaturdasi day by performing Abhyang Snan on this day. This day is also called as the Choti Diwali as it comes on the day before Diwali. This day is also called as Naraka Chaturdasi as it is believed that Krishna and Kali killed Narakasura on this day according to the Hindu mythology.

Narakasura is killed for his endless ill-treats towards the women. As this day is the night before Diwali it is celebrated as Naraka Chaturdasi or Choti Diwali.
