Our government to double farmers income by 2022: Narendra Modi

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised farmers for making India self-sufficient in agricultural sector over the decades. Via videoconferencing PM Modi addressed farmers through his govt’s pet scheme that includes Digital India campaign, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Narendra Modi wants to go on with his efforts in order to directly connect with the beneficiaries. It has happened the sixth time when PM Modi interact with farmers via video conference and the series of interactions began on the eve of Modi government completing four years in office

At this time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his statement that “the budget for agriculture would get doubled to

Rs 2.12 lakh crore in his government and farmers income would get doubled by 2022″, he further added that “We are working towards ensuring that the income of our hardworking farmers doubles by 2022. For that, we are facilitating proper assistance wherever required. We have faith in the farmers of India,”  via video conferencing during an interactive session that PM is held with farmers from over 600 districts through Narendra Modi App.

At the time when PM was addressing the farmers, PM focused that his government’s major schemes are meant to boost the agriculture sector. “Cutting input cost, fair price for the crop, preventing the produce from rotting and creating alternate sources of income are the four key areas for raising farm income,” PM Narendra Modi said during this sessions.
PM Modi further added in his statement of the policy interventions are being planned to help farmers right from seeds to markets that “There is a record growth not only in foodgrain sector but also in milk, fruit and vegetable production,” he added. “Our effort is to provide farmers assistance at all stage of agriculture — at the time of sowing, after sowing and at the time of harvesting,”

PM Modi further added in his statement that 280 million tones of foodgrains were produced in 2017-2018 as compared to an average of 250 million tonnes between 2010 and 2014 and Pulses production has increased by 10.5 per cent.
PM Modi said that ” The country is not just witnessing record foodgrain production but milk, fruit and vegetable output too are at all-time highs”.
” Soil health cards are being provided to help farmers better understand soil nutrient status of his/her holding and advice them on the dosage of fertilisers” said, PM Modi,
