Olympic Silver Medallist P.V. Sindhu was given a grand welcome at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad on Monday Morning. Amid scenes of delight and loud cheers, Sindhu, who was accompanied by Coach Pullela Gopichand, was greeted by her parents P.V. Ramana and P. Vijaya.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and other ministers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were at the Airport to welcome Sindhu. People had gathered in Hyderabad streets to welcome India’s Olympic Heroine P V Sindhu.

Hyderabad Police has imposed traffic restrictions between RGI Aiport and GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli in the view of celebratory procession arranged in honour of PV Sindhu on Monday.

The Telangana Government has announced a Rs. 5 crore cash reward for 21-year-old Sindhu, a 1,000 square yard housing site near the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli and a government job. The Telangana government has also announced a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore for Sindhu’s coach Gopichand.
