Some relationships just refuse to die. It’s been five years since actor Lakshmi Rai has broken up with cricketer MS Dhoni. Ever since the news of MS Dhoni retiring from the test series went viral, the stories about his past relationships also started doing the rounds.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story a biopic on Dhoni life is ready to hit silver screens September 30th. And, his relationship with Raai Laxmi once again resurfaced. But, in a recent interview Raai Lakshmi gives a clarity about her relationship with M.S. Dhoni.

Indian captain MS Dhoni was linked with South actress Lakshmi Rai for a long time before he tied the knot with Sakshi Singh Rawat on July 4, 2010. Raai and Dhoni dated each other for some time back in 2009 but the past continues to cling on to her. She is so irked by the topic that she has even called her relationship with Dhoni a ‘scar’.

Recently, Lakshmi Raai said “ I’ve been the brand ambassador for Chennai Super Kings during IPL 2008. During that time, I met Dhoni. We never had an idea to get married. After that season, we parted our ways. But I don’t know why people are digging up my past even after eight years.”

Responding to whether her character will be there in the film, Raai said: “I’ve tried to know the story of the film but I didn’t get any information.” After the tragic death of Dhoni previous girlfriend Priyanka Jha, he had a short term relationship with Lakshmi Raai. Hence rumors spread out saying that her character might have also included in the film.

Reportedly, the two met in 2008, when Dhoni along with his close friend Suresh Raina, went to attend a party. Back in the year 2002, when Dhoni was in his early 20s, vying for a place in the India team, he reportedly fell in love with a girl named Priyanka Jha. Priyanka Jha, she had passed away in a tragic accident in the year 2002.

To show this untold story, it is said that director Neeraj Pandey did take Dhoni’s permission to which he even agreed. The movie is all set to hit the silver screens on September 30th. Let’s wait and experience the untold story on silver screen.
