Reliance Jio New Master Plan To Offer 1Gbps Broadband Service In Cheaper Rates

Reliance swept the mobile telecom industry with its whole new world of Reliance Jio and its exciting unlimited free offers. However, the company has more up its sleeve. Yes, there are reports that Jio would be rolling out its DTH services and will give a very tough competition to the existing DTH and broadband players.

Reliance Jio Plans Broadband GigaFiber Services with 1 GBPS:

Fiber To The Home (FTTH):

The service will come in the form of a high-speed optical fibre – pushing speeds up to 1 Gbps. The company has already laid out cables in most of the parts in India, but the final date isn’t clear yet. As far as pricing goes, the company has suggested that it will offer value for the customer like with all its Jio services.

Customers of the service will get access to high-speed internet, as well as a host of Reliance Jio services. The hardware will include a set-top-box, as well as an Androidsmartbox or Apple TV that will help them control the content and also play games.

The speed would be 1Gbps and it is surely going to be a blessing for everyone who considers even 16 Mbps as a luxury. The company further added that if things go well, customers can even stream or play hi-def games with multiple players. Since the speed would be very high, users won’t face any issue while buffering 4K videos.

Smart home:

Jio will definitely destroy the DTH market with JioTV, which would offer 360 channels, out of which 50 would be in HD. A voice enabled remote can be used for searching the channel, actors, category or show. This is not the 1st time that such services are being offered; few years ago, MTNL had come up with IPTV and Airtel too had something similar, unfortunately they had failed.

Even if there are multiple TVs at home, a single router would be enough, but individual set-top-boxes would be needed. The company also promises of Jio MediaShare, which will allow you to play content from your hard drive or PC, with the help of Home Gateway.

Plans to Expect with Jio Broadband GigaFiber:

  • Rs. 500 for 3.5GB data use per day, with validity period of 30 days
  • Rs. 400 for unlimited data usage, with validity period of 24 hours
  • Rs. 1,500 for maximum data usage limit of up to 2000GB with 50Mbps speed, with validity period of 30 days
  • Rs. 2,000 for maximum data usage limit of 1000 GB with 100Mbps speed, with validity period of 30 days
  • Rs. 4,000 for data limit till 500GB with 400Mbps speed, valid for 30 days
  • Rs. 3,500 for 750GB free data with 200Mbps speed, with validity period of 30 days
  • Rs. 5,500 for 300GB of data with 600Mbps speed, valid up to 30 days

But with these services, we can surely say one thing that the DTH and Broadband market is going to be destroyed.
