Reliance is planning to completely win over the telecom industry with its new whole new world. The company recently launched its Jio 4G services with some of the cheapest tariff plans. And now, it has unveiled the JioFi portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The device is priced at Rs 1,999 and comes with free Jio welcome offer till December 31, 2016.

Reliance Jio’s new JioFi is larger than its predecessor and sports a squarish shape with smooth edges. It has a sleek matte finish design, compared to the glossy egg-shaped original JioFi wireless hotspot.

However, the most notable difference is the Oled display housed on the top. The new Reliance Jio device shows whether the power is on/ off, the amount of battery life left, the 4G signal strength, and Wi-Fi signal strength. The large form can be credited to the 2600mAh battery integrated inside. To compare, the original JioFi had a 2300mAh battery.

To purchase Reliance JioFi hotspot, customers just have to visit their nearest Reliance Retail, Reliance Digital or Digital Xpress Mini store, along with valid proof of address and identity (both original and photocopy). A passport-size photo is also needed. Post that, they have to call on 18008901977 from their registered mobile number to activate data. Furthermore, the Jio4GVoice app needs to be installed and a call on 1977 must be made to activate voice.

Earlier this month, Reliance introduced its Jio welcome offer. As part of the introductory offer, all Jio users will get free data, voice, video and a bouquet of Jio applications and content till December 31, 2016.
