Saffronists Vandalize Ambedkar Statue In UP, Repaint Whole Of It With Their Favorite Color

Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: The height of illogical saffronism, the nation is experiencing now can be very well be understood from the recent incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun. The statue of the father of constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar, was seen in saffron color and was covered with marigold garlands at a village in Uttar Pradesh called Badaun. The statue had to rebuilt after it was vandalized recently.

The statues of Ambedkar are usually in black or blue coat dress across the country. The statue in the news from Badaun’s Dugraiyaa village is an exception.

The paint-job was done under the presence of the district police officers.

Very soon after the act, a group of workers came at the spot and repainted the statue in blue color. The workers are said to be from Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party.

The saffron based party with Yogi Adityanath in power in the state in UP last year, several buildings of official status were also painted in that color in Lucknow.

Yogi’s party and himself is known for his love for the color ‘Saffron’. He many a times said : “Saffron represents purity… can someone deny the existence of the sun which is also saffron… people questioning all these are narrow-minded.”

Recently, many numbers of statues were vandalised after a Lenin statue was pulled down in Tripura soon after the BJP wrested the state from the Left.

Security around statues in Uttar Pradesh was beefed up today because of a “Bharat Bandh” call by those opposed to quota in jobs and education.

Since the BJP took power in the North Eastern state, there has been a spate of incidents on rise with the saffron elements taking the chance to attack minorities. They pretend to be the protectors of Hindutva, but are going against human values in the name of religion.
