Virender Sehwag Finally Opens About His Tweet Towards Gurmehar Kaur
We’re living in a generation where Nationalism and Anti-Nationalism have become the taglines implicating the opinions. Virender Sehwag became the social media’s target after his insensitive reply to Gurmehar Kaur. 20-year-old Gurmehar Kaur is Kargil martyr’s daughter.
Viru, took a dig at Cargill martyr’s daughter on her tweet criticizing the functioning of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Sehwag’s tweet gave rise to a hoard of trolls and people mindlessly posted replies for his tweet. Even Gautam Gambhir expressed his disappointment for mocking the girl.
Shashi Tharoor also criticized Sehwag for his insensitive tweet and said, “I am disappointed that my cricket hero Virender Sehwag chose to enter the wholly politicized debate over Gurmehar Kaur’s words by saying, “I didn’t score two triple centuries, my bat did.”
Virender Sehwag has defended himself over a tweet he posted which dragged him into a huge controversy. After receiving a lot of controversy from each and every corner the former Indian player clarified the issue. He clarified his stance by saying that his tweet was misconstrued and he did it just for “plain fun”.
My tweet was an attempt to be facetious rather than one to bully anyone over their opinion. Agreement or disagreement wasn’t even a factor.

She has a right to express her views and anyone who threatens her with violence or rape is the lowest form of life.
