Shashi Tharoor’s Posts A Christmas Tweet, People Are Not Liking It
Right from the “Exasperating farrago of distortions”, he has always been the epitome of trolls and memes on social media. It might be his English or the logical things he perpetuates on the rivals, Shashi Tharoor is always a winner in this space of wisdom and fun. Tharoor has the power of transforming a normal discussion into an erudite one.
Earlier, Shashi Tharoor’s picture has come out on social media roping in crazy captions replicating his slang and sense of humor. In the picture he is seen staring at the family portrait of Gandhi family (old picture), the picture has Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, their pet dog and Sonia Gandhi.
More than his work, the Kerala MP is popular on social media for his amazing speech videos and the use of fancy English words. Shashi Tharoor’s wordy tweets have, time and again, baffled, impressed and intrigued people on social media and generated some hilarious responses.
Now, again after a while, the politician is trending on the social media for his tweet on Christmas. It would perhaps be safe to say that people on social media are obsessed with Tharoor’s fondness for using words that would amaze and have people rushing to the dictionary; something the MP is not only clearly aware of, but his followers have now come to expect. On the eve of Christmas, it seemed like Tharoor has decided to go easy.
On December 24, he wished people on social media with a brief message that read, “Tis the season to be merry (& for some, to freeze!) Whether you are celebrating amid snow or with cotton balls masquerading as snow, may the festive spirit bring you good cheer at year’s end. But spare a thought for He who was born today to spread love, peace & brotherhood.”

His fans, however, are highly disapproving of the lack of grandiloquence in his greeting. The easy English didn’t go down too well with his fans who otherwise hail his verbose text.
The reaction that Tharoor’s tweet garnered surely tells us that how much is social media obsessed with the Congress leader. But something which was very clear was, Shashi Tharoor’s going easy on social media was not welcomed with open arms.
Twitter Reactions:
No difficult words, not done. 🙁

Sir this time I didn’t have to check the meaning of masquerading. Merry Christmas sir.

His holiday wishes were welcomed but the conspicuous absence of any abstruse word caught the attention of people and they are clearly not too pleased with it.
No one could forget that he’s the man who introduced the words “Exasperating farrago of distortions”, “masquerading” and many more to the social media world. He even tweeted explaining why he always uses such complicated and big words to convey his message. While explaining, he ended up using more such words.
