Shivraj Singh Chouhan Says Madhya Pradesh Roads Are Better Than US, Paves Way For Hilarious Jokes And Memes

It is quite common that whenever a politician or a celebrity passes a weird statement or comment, he/she becomes a target of jokes and memes on social media. We had seen this many times earlier. This happens to anyone, no matter whether the person is a minister or a star hero. This happened numerous times with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

The latest person who was targeted was Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. On a recent visit to the US, Shivraj Singh told in a meeting that he felt the roads back home in Madhya Pradesh were a lot better than those in the US. He was on a tour to seek investments from the United States and this is when he passed such a statement.

He said that he traveled on both the roads and in comparison to the US, he finds MP’s roads better. In exact words, he said, “When I got down at the Washington Airport and traveled on the road, I felt the roads in Madhya Pradesh are better than the United States. I am saying this not just for the sake of saying.”

The chief minister added that no state can develop without basic infrastructure. He claimed, “Today, we have constructed around 1.75 lakh kilometer roads in the state and all the villages have been well-connected with roads.”

The moment he said so, Twitter started trolling him and Shivraj has faced flak for poorly-maintained and potholed roads in Madhya Pradesh. Never one to miss an opportunity, Twitter was quick enough to ridicule the Chief Minister’s statement. They came up with hilarious memes and made fun of him using the hashtag ‘MP Roads’.

While some posted photos of beautiful highways, claiming them to be from Madhya Pradesh, others dug up a 2016 photo of Mr. Chouhan during his visit to the flood-hit areas in the state.
