Test cricket is as much about the execution of tactics as much as it is about planning. New Zealand returns to winning ways on the back of some great batting from Kane Williamson.

The first test was not a god story for Pakistan and certainly not when it comes to their batting. Before we could criticize Pakistan on the batting. There are a few positives from this game. First is the bowling. Pakistan bowling was really good. Sohail Khan amazing fielding grabs attention in the match.

Colin de Grandhomme, New Zealand bowler returned with seven wickets for the game, with six in one. The pacer was named the Man of the Match for his stellar bowling performance in the first innings.

On a sad note, Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been suspended for one Test match and fined 40 percent of his match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the first Test against New Zealand at Christchurch. Pakistan team players were also fined 20 percent of their match fee after they were ruled to be two overs short of their target of 103 overs at Christchurch.
