Sridevi’s untimely death has left a void in the entire film fraternity in India. Many celebrities and politicians took Twitter to share their grief but her demise is perhaps the biggest loss to her family. It was just five months before her elder daughter Jhanvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut, Sridevi died in Dubai.

She was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, leaving her family, fans, and Bollywood in shock. While her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor accompanied Sridevi to the wedding in Dubai, Jhanvi decided to stay behind in Mumbai to shoot for her debut film Dhadak.

Condolences, tweets, posts, and tributes are dedicated to the actress by celebrities, politicians and various people across the country. Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy yet again found himself on the receiving end of jibes on social media after he raised Dawood Ibrahim’s name in connection with Sridevi’s death.

Subramanian Swamy told ANI, “Let’s wait for the prosecution to pronounce it. Facts in media don’t appear to be consistent. She never drank hard liquor, how did it enter her system? What happened to CCTV? Doctors suddenly appeared before media and said she died of heart failure. (sic)”

He also questioned the ‘illegitimate relationships’ between actresses and absconding underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. “Cinema actresses aur Dawood ke jo rishte Hain, naajayaz rishte Hain us par hamein Thoda dhyaan Dena padega,” Swamy said.

The BJP leader’s statements are getting him massively trolled on Twitter. From “serial character assassin” to “vile, sick creature” to “chief conspiracy theorist of India”, Twitteratti is calling him all kinds of names and slamming him for ‘not leaving even the dead in his attention seeking’.
