Supreme Court Rejects Petetion To Make The National Anthem Mandatory In Courts And Here Is How Twitter Reacted

Just a couple of days ago, the Supreme Court made playing national anthem mandatory in all the cinema halls before screening the film. Almost everyone was questioning the need of forcing patriotism on people.

After making National Anthem mandatory in theaters, the Supreme Court today rejected a plea seeking to impose the same rule on courts. The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a plea of a BJP leader and lawyer seeking playing of the national anthem in all courts before the start of proceedings.

National Anthem In Courts:

The matter was mentioned by advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay before a bench of Justices Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy, the same bench which passed the November 30 order. A bench of justices Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy said it is not inclined to entertain the plea of BJP spokesperson Ashwani Kumar Upadhyay.

“Whether right or wrong, our order should not be overstretched. Bar (referring to Upadhyay) should show some restraint,” the bench said.

The Supreme Court declined to take up a plea to make the playing of the National Anthem mandatory in all courts without a formal petition and asked the lawyer to file a proper plea.
