Suresh Raina Apologizes To Ambati Rayudu After Bizarre Run-out And Here is Rayudu’s Reaction

Its that time of the year for all the cricket fans not only in India but across the world. IPL has started with a bang and continued to produce last over thrillers. One of those was the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings.
Super Kings found it hard after being put in, Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson struggled to come to terms with the conditions thrown at them. When the openers were dismissed, CSK had 32 runs on the board in the eighth over.

Then Rayudu and Raina collaborated to build the innings with a 112-run stand. By the end of the 10th over, CSK had just 54 on the board – they not only had the lowest powerplay score in IPL 2018, they also had the lowest score at the halfway mark. However, the push came from Rayudu. It was in the 14th over when he picked up 18 from the Billy Stanlake over to give the innings the much-needed impetus heading into the final part of the innings. The onslaught helped Raina settle in, too, and overcome the early scratchiness.

Rayudu hammered 79 off 37 before he was run out while Raina made an unbeaten 54. MS Dhoni struck 25 off 12 in the end to lift the side over 180. CSK had picked up 128 runs in the last ten overs to give themselves a major boost.
Rayudu got run-out in a bizarre manner due to the mistake of Suresh Raina. In the 17th over Rayudu struck Siddharth Kaul’s ball and took a single. When Kaul missed the throw after this, Rayudu ran to the other side of the crease for another single. Raina shouted to tell him that the ball hadn’t gone too far but it was too late. Rayudu had already come way ahead and eventually got a run out.

Raina walked up to Rayudu and said sorry. Rayudu, like a real sportsman, gave Raina a smile, a pat on his back and walked towards the pavilion.

Ambati Rayudu’s masterclass was nearly outdone by one from Kane Williamson, but Chennai Super Kings survived that attack from Sunrisers’ captain and then a Yusuf Pathan cameo to crawl to the top of the table.
