Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali brand is being opposed in the market regarding the use of ingredients in it. First there was a news on Patanjali brand is having a fake license for its noodles. Cow urine in Patanjali products

Coming to the latest news, a Tamil Nadu-based Muslim organization has issued a ‘Fatwa‘ against Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali products. It is said that the products are made by cow urine, it is considered ‘haram’ (Forbidden) in Islam. Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat (TNTJ) said cow’s urine was being used as a ‘key ingredient’ in cosmetics, medicines and food products of Patanjali that are available in open markets as well as online.

According to the beliefs of Muslims, cow’s urine is ‘haram’ which should not be used. Therefore, TNTJ issues a fatwa that products of Patanjali are haram,” TNTJ said in a release. The fatwa was being issued to ensure that such products were not consumed by Muslims due to a lack of awareness about the ingredients of the products they consume in daily life, it added.

Balkrishna gives clarity on Patanjali products

The yoga guru Balkrishna has offered clarification on the use of ingredients in Patanjali products. “Whichever organization has issued this fatwa (against Patanjali), I’d say, it’s their lack of knowledge. We make more than 800 products, out of which only 5 contain cow urine and it’s mentioned,” Acharya Balkrishna said.

“Patanjali has never concealed any information about which products contain cow urine and which don’t,” Balkrishna added.
