Activist Tarek Fatah Slams An Orthodox Pakistani For Calling Hijab “A Way Of Living” On Twitter
Burkha and Hijab is a burning issue in the life of Muslim Women. The contentious debate on this subject of wearing, or not, has been raging on across this ideologically polarised world.
Some muslims believe that wearing the hijab or burka is compulsory for women under Islam. While some other claim that the Holy Quran makes no mention of it and so it is not compulsory for Islam followers.
Recently, an orthodox Pakistani made a tweet saying that wearing the hijab is a “way of life”. This didn’t go well with Tarek Fatah and he slammed the Twitterati. The original tweet was however deleted but this is what Tarek tweeted in response:
There is nothing about the Hijab that is a ‘way of living’. Stop lying in the name of Islam @AlishbaSharif. Stop slut-shaming non-hijabis. https://t.co/SRfKBEHmmd

Another user then asks Tarek Fatah to establish the fact whether it is compulsory for the ladies to wear hijab and burka as per the Islam or it is just one more command of mullahs:
no surah or Aayat of Holy Quran talked about Hijab,if any please prove its about ALLAHs V/S Islam Mullas ISLAM @AlishbaSharif

He shared his opinion over the wearing of hijab by the ladies:
It doesn’t matter to Islamists. They practise ‘Mullah’s Islam’ as against ‘Allah’s Islam’; use women as frontline troops, bait to draw fire https://t.co/uY2Yz967IE

As per Tarek Fatah, the custom of wearing hijab and burka is made by the Mullahs and not by the Quran. With Islamists, he meant those followers of Islam who are promoting violence all over the world which is, in actual, against the teachings of Quran.
However, one person comes up with a proof that hijab is mentioned in Quran:
@SAMEER0107 @AlishbaSharif
Actually here is a verse that is used to justify hijab/burka. Quran does command women cover pic.twitter.com/4UCxdj2M2c— Trent Sickle (@Trentsickle) November 24, 2016
One of the users also talked about the roots of Islamic culture:
@sameer0107 Hijab predates Islam. Hijab was used during the Assyrian empire somewhere in 800 BC or so. Islam adopted it.

Hijab is a sort of headscarf which is usually worn by Shia Muslim women while burka is a garment which covers a lady from head-to-toe and it is usually worn by Sunni Muslim women.
