This 10-Year-Old Girl’s Essay on Raksha Bandhan Will Make You Super Proud of Her
Teaching is one of the wonderful professions as teachers can develop great thinkers, and change lives too. While the work is full on and the pressure is huge, teaching really is the best job in the world. Any teacher who has spent more than a few weeks in a classroom will have many stories to tell about!
Every now and then, kids come up with some gems that correcting their assignments will make you laugh, wonder and even make you think sometimes.
Their innocent thought process without the fear of judgement can often yield inspirational results. And the same happened when this 10-year-old school girl from Mumbai was asked to write an essay on Raksha Bandhan.
She just put down her own thoughts on the festival and we must say we are impressed by her thoughts.
Take a look at her Essay here!
Raksha Bandhan is a festival of Hindus. They consider it religious. In this festival a sister ties a rakhi on her brother’s wrist. Rakhi is just a colourful thread. A sister can protect herself, even then she has to tie a rakhi. I just smack my brother and tie the rakhi (for the sake of it). I get many presents from my brother.
“I even got an iPad. People should know that a girl can protect herself, even then we get gifts for free (by tying a rakhi).”
This wonderful essay was written by 10-year-old Neeli Shah from Gundecha School, Borivali, Mumbai. It was posted on twitter by Sunil Pathak, whose wife is the girl’s tutor.

Though the little girl made so many ‘maatra‘ mistakes in her essay, we can give her 10/10 as she poured her heart out into words.
