Though Kunwar Bai is above 100, her enthusiasm for a better life has not darkened. She determined to stop the habit of open defecation in her family. Thus, she sold off eight to ten goats to build toilets in the house.

For this, Kunwar Bai has not only been felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself but also picked as the mascot for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. She was felicitated by PM Modi when he visited Chhattisgarh to launch the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban (rural-urban) Mission.
