In a sad incident that took place in Koppal district, Karnataka, a three-year-old child was seen playing peacefully thinking that his parents lay asleep beside him on the railway platform at Munirabad Railway Station. But the fact is that they were dead.

The boy, Devaraj was thinking that as soon as his parents would wake up, they’d go to visit the Huligemma Temple. The passers-by had seen the couple and realized that they were not breathing. But Devaraj continued to believe that his parents would wake up and pushed them.

Hence, the witnesses reported the police. The police soon arrived the spot and seen the overwhelmed scene of teary eyes at the scene of telling the boy truth. The family was from Gadag and the deceased couple was identified as Iranna Talawar, 50 and Manjula, 40.

“We contacted some of their relatives through the contact list on their mobile phone. Prima facie, it looks like suicide case, but we are not sure whether they consumed poison or something else. We don’t know the exact reason for their death. It will be clear after we get the post-mortem reports,” said Police Sub-Inspector, RS Kotagi of Gadag Railway Police.

The dead bodies have been shifted to the district hospital for post-mortem. About the child’s custody, the police said that “if nobody from the deceased’s families comes forward, the boy will be handed over to the Child Protection Committee.”
