Who doesn’t like the adrenaline rush while speeding the lanes or highways with the vehicles? Well, everyone loves to do it though they are against the traffic rules. Traffic rules are laid down by the government for public safety but often times we just ignore them despite knowing them.
Now you might feel that who follows them in our city! Well after reading this post you’ll be forced to follow as Telangana traffic authority is taking some really strict actions. Read on to find out if you don’t believe us!
There had been a speed limit placed on the ORR which reduced the speed from 120KM/hour to 100KM/hour after noticing the number of accidents happening on the Outer Ring Road. Though this isn’t a new news, most of us don’t follow the same as you don’t know that you’re being monitored. Well, even this Honda Jazz owner felt the same and went on overboard with his speed.
As a result, he was being fined continuously for his act. As per the Telangana E-Challan department, this car has been fined 127 times for speeding on the ORR. The fine amount of speeding is Rs. 1,435. The total challan amount to be paid by the said Honda Jazz is 1.82 Lakh.
The officials revealed that they have been sending text messages to the owner but aren’t getting any response in return. They also stated that they will send the number to the tollgates and detain the vehicle until the challans get cleared by the owner.
“The offender is definitely sent text messages regarding the challans, but if he is not using the phone number recorded at the time of vehicle registration, he may not be receiving them. We will send his vehicle number to tollgates and detain the vehicle. We will make sure that the vehicle owner clears all his challans soon,” Said the officials.
Well, now that you know what could be the punishment for speeding, you seriously need to control your adrenaline rush despite empty roads on the ORR. Looks like the traffic department of Telangana is really concerned about reducing the number of accidents by taking relevant measures and imposing fines if the rules aren’t being followed.
There has been an increase in the usage of helmets for two-wheelers also due to the strict rules being imposed which is a good sign.
