UP Govt. Bans Movie Scenes That Shows Breaking of Traffic Rules

The Bollywood films Producers has to be careful for any stunts on vehicles to be shown in the movie not to break traffic rules . The Uttar Pradesh government said in as statement that  Stunts performed by actors has influenced youth in rash driving , which has caused many road accidents . Uttar Pradesh’s transport department on Tuesday directed all district magistrates and chairpersons of district road safety committees to impose a strict ban on scenes in films, commercials or television series that show violation of road safety rules.

The department said the order has been issued considering the large number of deaths and grievous injuries due to road accidents each year.Stunts by actors on two and four wheelers in Bollywood films encourage rash driving and should not be shown or statutory warning should be issued along with the shots, Uttar Pradesh government has advised the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

“Heroes are shown in our films performing stunts on bikes and cars promoting such acts by youths leading to deaths on roads. I have advised the Chief Executive Officer of CBFC not to show such scenes in our films,” UP Transport Commis..

In an official statement, UP transport commissioner K Ravindra Naik said such videos and publicity material tend to have an adverse impact on viewers, especially youths, and must be banned to the curb the tendency to flout road safety norms.
