Vodafone India to Roll out 4G Services in Delhi, Mumbai by March – Offers SIMs in Advance

Vodafone India, the second-largest mobile network operator in India has announced that it is likely to roll out 4G services in the major metro cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. The telecom operator Vodafone India made an official announcement that it will launch Vodafone 4G services in Mumbai and Delhi by the month of March. The second largest telecom operators in the country started issuing 4G-ready SIMs in Mumbai.

Last year, in the month of December, the company has announced that it will roll out its new 4G network service starting in Kochi, Kerala from December 14, i.e., from Monday. Now, it is planning to roll out the 4G connectivity services in India in major metro cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. Vodafone India is also making arrangements of home delivery of 4G-ready SIMs for its premium high-value customers in Mumbai.

Vodafone India to Offer SIMs

The company said in a statement, “Vodafone has already launched its high-speed 4G services in Kerala. The intensity of its roll-out will continue with major metros like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi to be launched by March 2016.” 

“We want our customers to be 4G-ready so that they can start experiencing the benefits of high-speed mobile Internet services as soon as they are launched commercially. Hence, this facility to upgrade to 4G-ready SIMs in advance,” Vodafone India business head Mumbai Ishmeet Singh said.

He said the company is “fully geared up to launch” 4G services in 1,800Mhz band in Mumbai very soon. Vodafone is also making arrangements of home delivery of 4G-ready SIMs for its premium high-value customers in Mumbai and formal communication is being sent out to all these customers with details of the initiative, the statement said.

In addition to the 4G services, Vodafone India earlier also launched a 4G device which broadcasts Wi-Fi signal to which other devices like mobile phones and computers can connect. Over the last 18 months, the company has invested more than Rs. 700 crore in Kerala towards network expansion.
