India is set to celebrate its 69th Republic Day on Friday i.e; 26th Jan 2018, with F10 heads of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as Chief Guests at Rajpath in Delhi. Republic Day of India is celebrated by its citizens to remembering the day the Constitution of India came into effect. The heads are from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.

Though India attained Independence on 15th August 1947 while till the year 1949 there wasn’t been any constitution framed permanently for the nation, thus it was the day when world’s largest democracy’s constitution came into existence.

The Republic Day parade will begin at 9 am and is likely to continue till 11:25 AM. Before the parade, the Prime Minister would lay a floral wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti, the president would unfurl the National flag as the National Anthem is played. Also, Ashoka Chakra and Kirti Chakra awards will be awarded by the President of India for gallantry displayed away from the battlefield.

The Republic Day Parade takes places along Rajpath, in Delhi. Its route, which is more than five kilometers long, sets out from Raisina Hill near Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s Palace) and follows Rajpath past India Gate and on to the Red Fort.
