West Bengal: Man Beaten to Death For Protesting Against Molestation
A 28-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of men after he protested against someone who molested his two female friends, this incident happened in the 24 Parganas District of West Bengal on Thursday.
A Senior Police Officer in the south 24 Parganas District said that the investigation is going on and they are still to arrest anyone that is connected with the incident, 5 men were named in the FIR that was filed by the family members of the 28-year-old.
28-year-old Arup Biswas passed away at a hospital where he was rushed after the incident on Wednesday night, he was beaten to death by group members of a club from Tripuranagar after he was seen protesting against the molesting of his 2 women friends on February 14, 2019.
A senior police officer said: “Arup’s kin alleged that the youth was tied to a lamppost and beaten up after he protested when his two female friends were molested by the club members. They have also alleged that Arup was forced to consume poison by the club members.”
The relatives of 28-year-old Arup Biswas said that the members of the club have demanded Rupees 40,000 to settle the said matter. The police officer said: “We are looking for the accused people who are absconding at the moment. An investigation has been initiated into the matter.”
