WhatsApp Opens Up Business API Along With Shortcut For Facebook Ads
WhatsApp for Business app will be updated with two new developments which is available for Android at present, the company WhatsApp announced. The first point is that the Facebook-owned company is starting the WhatsApp Business API for more businesses, with the target to reach potential customers at scale. The second point is that the Facebook ads are getting a novel click to WhatsApp shortcut to be able to connect to advertisers with users, however. But this feature will not be available in India.
Businesses around the board will have a new chance to reach customers after the WhatsApp for Business API opens up. Customized notifications can be sent using this API along with relevant, non-promotional content such as shipping confirmations, event tickets and appointment reminders and many more. A fixed rate will be applied to charge for the messages. On the customers’ side, the API can be used to reply to their queries for free. But on the business side, they will have to pay any reply to messages after 24 hours of receiving the last customer response.
The integration of WhatsApp Business API with popular customer service and support ticketing service Zendesk is a good example of that. This integration facility will provide help for companies to add WhatsApp alongside the dashboard. In this way, brands will have the facility to provide real-time customer support to many users at the same time.
As per the company’s experiment of WhatsApp with 20 companies for the past few months, it was a success and it is bound to open up gradually. So all organizations will not have any access at one go but it would be rolled out for all enterprises over the next few months.
Facebook is rolling out the ability to redirect users directly to WhatsApp chat from ads they see on Facebook and this is being done after several months of testing. “When a person taps on an Ad that clicks to WhatsApp, they will be transferred to a prefilled WhatsApp chat where they can message your business quickly,” according to a blog post. Facebooks ads being managed by the businesses will be able to view metrics which includes the number of conversations started and the total number of replies received. As it was mentioned above, consumers in India need not expect to view the Facebook ads with WhatsApp shortcut anytime soon.
WhatsApp for Business gives users the ability to request any kind of information like procure boarding passes, shipping information and more by using conversations on the platform. Real-time customer support is also being provided by some businesses. The company is said to be working on an iOS version too.
