Whopping Rs. 6.5 Crores Investment by Rajasthan University for New Sports Complex in Campus: Oldest and the Largest State-Government Funded University of Rajasthan again captured the headlines today after starting the construction of a new sports complex a while back. To incorporate volleyball court of wooden flooring, badminton court and basketball court, Rajasthan University’s new constructing complex is expected to be completed by March 2019.

“We are working hard to develop our infrastructure. Along with this, an auditorium of 325 seats will be constructed which will be helpful for any even in the University,” said Poddar’s Administration Head – Yashpal Singh in a press release statement to TOI yesterday. He also disclosed how the University of Rajasthan is trying to match its sports quality to international standards by building this new sports complex.

This is in continuation with a good news to non-teaching staff. Yesterday, UNIRAJ once again captured the headlines unveiling that now gratuity benefits have been extended to non-teaching staff as well. Besides, this Rs. 6.5 crore investment, Rajasthan University also spent whopping 1 crore to get modular furnishing a week back.

From the side of Raje’s Government, this rule was clear ordered back in December 2017 but is not implemented from the side of University’s Panel. Reportedly, the 200+ non-teaching staff of the University is going to be benefitted by this new law. “We have applied many times to fasten the procedure and finally they are given justice. This has open many doors for them and injustice have been prevented,” said RUEU (Rajasthan University Employees Union) President, Yashpal Chirana in a press release statement Yesterday.

“The state government has been replacing the old furniture with the new in every government department. Hence, in the university, we have ordered the modular furniture which will provide comfort to the employees. Furniture worth Rs. 74 lakh has arrived and remaining will be ordered very soon,” said PR Dhanka, Rajasthan University Registrar. To be precise, investing a total of Rs. 1 crore 74 lakh, furniture was issued on March 4, 2018, and by June 2018 all the tender procedure was exhausted.
