Going into details, a woman delivered a healthy baby girl inside a bank in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh while she was waiting in a queue with her mother-in-law to withdraw cash on Friday. With the help of some other women present in the line, Sarvesha was able to deliver the baby after an ambulance did not reach the spot on time. Subsequently, police officers drove the mother and the newborn to the hospital in a police van.

This was the second time she had come back to the bank to withdraw a part of the Rs 2.75 lakh compensation allotted to her by the government after her husband died in an accident.

She was standing in the queue since morning and went into labor around 4 pm, the report said. “I was afraid that I might lose Sarvesha but she delivered a beautiful baby and is recuperating,” her mother-in-law said. “The mother is weak but the baby is healthy,” Sarvesha’s mother-in-law added.
