Indian Famous wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt’s , had secured a bronze medal in 2012 London Olympics, in the Men’s freestyle 60 Kg category and last month it got upgraded to Silver, because Besik Kudukhov, the late Russian wrestler, who was a silver medalist in that category, got positively tested in the dope (Banned substance) test.

London Olympics medallist Yogeshwar Dutt returned home from Rio Olympics without making much of an impact, bowing out at the first hurdle. However, even as he tried to shake off the disappointment, came the news that he could win a gold medal in 2012 London Olympics.

Yes, there were many media reports that Yogeshwar’s silver medal would be upgraded to gold, since Togrul Asgarov, (Gold medalist in the same category in 2012 London Olympics) too was tested positive in the dope test.

However, it seems that, these were nothing but rumors. Yes, United World Wrestling has finally given an official confirmation on Twitter, thereby rubbishing all these rumors. UWW tweeted that the victory of Asgarov was legal and he is not tested positively in the dope test, which means no gold medal upgradations for Dutt. Have a look at the tweet…

As per WADA’s revised norms, samples taken for dope tests from international tournaments are now been stored in deep freeze up to 10 years in order to allow the use of advanced technology, available with the passage of time, to catch the dope cheats to ensure that “the clean athletes get justice even if it comes a bit late”.
